Lake Michigan Beach Wedding

E&D, like so many couples I work with, have family and friends scattered across the country - friends from undergrad in one state, friends from grad school in another, friends in their current state, and family back home. Wherever they decided to have their wedding, they new it would be a destination wedding for most of their guests. Thinking through the kind of experience they wanted their guests to have, they chose to have a Lake Michigan beach wedding and invite everyone they love to experience the magic of a summer weekend in Northern Michigan. The Leelanau School is a boarding high school during the school year, and hosts weddings and events during the summer. It has a summer camp vibe that creates the perfect backdrop for an elevated, luxury wedding or a laid back summer casual celebration. The Leelanau School is unique in that it was one of the only venues in Northern Michigan with direct lake access - meaning you can have your ceremony or cocktail hour on the beach. E&D opted for an alternate ceremony location due to wind, but walking out to the beach to watch the sunset with their friends was a highlight of the day. The Leelanau School is a hidden gem, tucked away in Glen Arbor, but still very close to town. It’s the perfect venue for any couple that’s interested for a Lake Michigan beach wedding.
